The “Earphone-Guide” provides
essential translation of dialogue and lyrics, as well as explanations
relating to the stories, music, dance, actors, properties and other
aspects of Kabuki & Bunraku that may be difficult for non-Japanese
visitors to understand. Comments are carefully timed to coincide with
the action on stage. |

Grand Opening of Kabukiza Theatre |

Kabukiza Theatre in Ginza (Tokyo), having finished 3 years renovation, celebrates its Grand Opening for a year from April 2013 and functions again as the main theatre of Kabuki.
We provide English Earphone-Guide service for Kabuki performances at Kabukiza Theatre. Please rent the rental devices at the Earphone-Guide counter on the ground floor.

MAKUMI (single show) (See Just One Play) at the National Bunraku Theatre in Osaka |

If you don’t have much time and a full-program seems too long and expensive, why not see a single play in January, April and November Bunraku performance. This can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. You can buy tickets for just one play only on the day you see the play at the entrance to the audience seats on the 2nd floor of the theatre. The ticket prices are based on the length of the section, but run between 500 and 1,500 yen. The seats are in the rear of the theatre. Earphone Guide and programs are also available for a tantalizing glimpse of the Bunraku experience.

| Where is it rented? |
At the Earphone-Guide counter on the lobby on the 2nd floor.
・Tell the attendant there which receiver you use, English or Japanese. |
| How much is the receiver rent? |
300 yen.
・The price is for Program I (from 11:00AM) and Program II (from 4:00PM) each on one day (not for both program).
・You can use it on the same price as many acts as you can during each program on one day.
・The price is the same for both English and Japanese. |
| How much is refundable deposit? |
1,000 yen.
・The Earphone-Guide is receiver rental service which is available only during each program on one day.
・We need deposit because the receiver should be returned.
・Give us 1,300 yen (receiver rent and refundable deposit) as you rent the receiver.
・We refund the 1,000 yen deposit when you return the receiver. |
