| The “Earphone-Guide” provides essential translation of dialogue
and lyrics, as well as explanations relating to the stories,
music, dance, actors, properties and other aspects of Kabuki
& Bunraku that may be difficult for non-Japanese visitors
to understand. Comments are carefully timed to coincide with
the action on stage. |

| MAKUMI(single show) (See Just
One Play) at Kabuki-za |
| If you don’t have much time and a
full-program seems too long and expensive, why not see a single
play. This can last anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours. To
the left of the main entrance to Kabuki-za, there is a separate
entrance where you can buy tickets for just one play. The
ticket prices are based on the length of the section, but
run between 500 and 1,500 yen. The seats are at the very top
of the theatre, but you will be in the midst of kabuki’s most
devoted fans. Earphone Guide and programs are also available
for a tantalizing glimpse of the kabuki experience. |

Earphone-Guide receiver (both English and Japanese) has
begun to be rented also to the audience of MAKUMI (on the
4th floor) of Kabuki-za, Tokyo, since December 2nd 2003. We
are looking forward to your visit and using the Earphone-Guide
receiver.

At the Earphone-Guide
counter on the lobby for MAKUMI on the 4th floor.
・To reach there, use the exclusive entrance for MAKUMI
on the left of main entrance.
・Tell the attendant there which receiver you use, English
or Japanese. |
| * How much is the receiver rent? |
400 yen.
・The price is for Matinee (from 11:00AM) and Evening
Show (from 4:30PM) each on one day (not for both program
Matinee and Evening Show).
・You can use it on the same price as many acts as you
can during each program on one day.
・The price is the same for both English and Japanese. |
| * How much is refundable deposit? |
1,000 yen.
・The Earphone-Guide is receiver rental service which
is available only during each program on one day.
・We need deposit because the receiver should be returned.
・Give us 1,400 yen (receiver rent and refundable deposit)
as you rent the receiver.
・We give you 1,000 yen (refundable deposit) back as
you return the receiver. |
